After preschool was back in session at the new year, I asked Lucy's teacher if she thought Lucy was ready for Kindergarten no problem. Her teacher said, "Oh,, I never say no problems!" So that made me stop and think about whether Lucy will be ready next fall or not. The reason I was thinking about it in the first place is because of her July birthday. She'll be on of the younger ones in her class. After much stressing and worrying trying to figure it out and dropping the $50 registration fee on reserving Lucy a spot at the preschool for next year in case we wanted it, I decided she is ready for Kindergarten next year. I think I kept trying to force the idea that it is a big advantage to be the oldest of your class and that I'd like her home with me and Ian another year, but after all the questioning it just feels right to send her next year. The thing that helped me the most was when I went to volunteer in Lucy's preschool. I was able to watch her behavior and knowledge compared to the kids she'd be in Kindergarten with next year. She did great and seemed to be in the top half of the 20 kids there. I have been doing reading lessons with her too and she has done great at them. I think she has actually been the quickest one to catch on to reading out of all my girls. At least the lessons have gone the smoothest and quickest with her so far. The lessons keep getting more complex and we are only on number 25 out of 100.

Handsome boys!
I took the kids sledding January 18th when there was no school and when we still had snow. After this storm it melted and we haven't had any since. Sari and Kate went down together and they crashed and Kate landed on Sari and she thought she was too hurt to move for a while.
