Turandot

Kate took a choir class from NOVA this spring.  They had a special opportunity to be in the Opera put on in Billings this year.  It was a really cool experience.  There was a lot more practices involved than I realized when we agreed to do it, but it ended up being worth it.  I had Scott taking her to a lot of the rehearsals and I didn't realize what I had been missing until I took Kate to the first dress rehearsal at the Alberta Bair Theater.  It was so cool, I couldn't believe it!  It was like they were putting the show on just for me (and a handful of other parents in the audience.)  The children's choir only sang three times during the opera and only appeared on stage twice, but it was so neat!  Kate had a lot of fun too.

The kids stayed in the green room between their appearances.  It was super crowded!  It was fun going downstairs and seeing all the actors/singers getting their voices warmed up and getting their costumes on and makeup all ready.
