Santa

Santa comes to a house in our neighborhood every year. This is the first time we have gone to see him. It was really nice because when we went, there were only a couple kids ahead of us and no one came for a little while when we were with him so the kids got to talk to him for as long as they wanted. Leah isn't pictured in all these outdoor pictures because she is always in her car seat bundled up to stay warm.
After the visit, Kate wanted to know why Santa had gloves on and why he kept saying, "ho, ho, ho!" She wouldn't let him touch her and she wouldn't talk to him, but after I asked her what she wants him to bring her for Christmas and she said a candy cane. I think he can manage that.

Sari actually told Santa what she wants for Christmas, though she never made eye contact. She said she wants a stuffed bunny. Someone was asking her later what else she asked Santa for. It must have got her thinking because later she asked me in a concerned voice, "Is Santa only going to bring me a bunny?" I told her I was pretty sure he'd give her a few more things than just the bunny.

Isn't it funny how kids react to Santa...he's supposed to be this jolly old man, but I think he scares more kids than he gets to like him. Hope you have a Merry Christmas!
