Gingerbread Hearts

Walmart had clearance gingerbread cookie dough when I went shopping this week and I must have been hungry because it was quickly thrown into the cart. Sari wanted to make heart cookies so that is what we did this afternoon. It made me realize once again how cluttered the kitchen is, as I was trying to get a shot without "it" in the picture. Once a week I try to declutter the kitchen counters and refrigerator front, but somehow the next day it all seems to be back.

We never quite got to Kate's hair today. She threw in a headband and we called it good for today. (Side note: Kate has woke Leah up from her nap every day this week. She runs up and down the stairs like an elephant and jumps off chairs, the counter, etc. making a really loud bang that gets Leah crying every time.)

Leah doesn't have any comfort objects. She never took a binkie and hasn't become attached to a blanket or stuffed animal or anything. The one way she does comfort herself is to put her mouth and nose against something (my leg, shoulder, the sheets on her mattress, etc.) to breathe. I thought I'd take a picture to remember it.
Leah had her 15 month vaccinations on Monday and has been very clingy and needy since. As long as I'm not right in the middle of doing something, it has actually been nice holding her more than usual. She usually doesn't want to be interrupted during her explorations and play for me to hold her very long. All the extra quality time I've been spending with her has also made me really excited for our next little baby girl coming. It took me a second to adjust to knowing we have another girl in our future because for a couple reasons I was thinking it would be a boy. I also had a couple boy names I liked and my girl name list was getting pretty old and tired. After looking through a baby naming book though, I realize I just need to start from scratch and there are plenty of cute names left out there for our fourth girl. I'm excited to have her!

Other happenings: I've started letting Leah try to feed herself via spoon/fork. It's pretty messy and I can't wait till she gets better at it. It is so nice when they can feed themselves everything. It makes mealtime that much easier.

Ohh-now I want some gingerbread cookies, they look good. I should look at a baby name book, I am struggling a bit.
