Maybe

I've noticed lately when my kids ask me something that I don't want to say yes to, but know I should, I say "maybe." My kids have learned that when I say, maybe, I really mean yes. Yesterday Kate asked me if she could paint. I hesitated, then said, "maybe." She cheered, "Yay, I'm going to go get some paper!" and proceeded to run off happily.
