Merry Christmas!
Like many things lately, the Christmas card has been
simplified. With so many things to do, I
decided to e-mail, blog, and facebook the Christmas card this year! If it isn't screaming (literally) for
attention, it doesn't get it. The house
gets ripped to pieces every week, until we can make it to the weekend again and
one of us can run interference while the other gets some cleaning done. Hopefully, before too long, things will get a
little easier to keep a handle on!
Luckily, Lucy is a great baby and sleeps great, however even the best
baby is still a baby and they need a lot of care!
Leah loves her baby sister and
wakes up each morning asking for her (and to watch Mickey Mouse
Clubhouse). Leah spends a lot of time
singing and being generally cute. She
has turned two and the appropriate attitude has followed. She has also learned that a piercing scream
helps make her sisters stop pestering her, or motivates her parents to get her
what she needs.
Kate is in preschool and comes home
singing the songs she learned there.
Once home from preschool, she likes to stick close to home. When it's my turn for carpool and Kate has to
wait in the van with me, she is standing on her head and scaling the seats like
a monkey. Lately, whenever I don't know
where my iPhone is, I ask Kate because she is constantly taking it to take
pictures of me unknowingly or to play Fruit Ninja. She is also really good at helping me entertain
Lucy when she is fussy.
Sari is in Kindergarten and
becoming a good reader. She is enjoying
it, but can't wait to get home everyday so she can play with friends. Now that it is winter, it seems that our
house is the gathering place for the neighborhood, all the better for ripping
the house apart! Sari is very observant
and thoughtful. She really likes making
people laugh and is good at entertaining Leah. Sari is in dance and likes it,
but doesn't enjoy the tights.
It seems like Scott and I have been
in survival mode the past half year.
Summer went by in a flash, with Lucy being born in July. Scott's family visited from Montana for her blessing and that was
fun. Scott joined Crescendo, a singing
quartet, in March, which kept him pretty busy during the summer. One of their major concerts was an hour long
for Lehi’s Arts in the Park series. They
are performing a couple of times for Christmas now, as well. I try to go to the performances when I can,
but the kids make it a hassle at best.
In between clothing, feeding, cleaning, and transporting children, I
still find a little time to read, exercise, and see friends which all help keep
me sane. Scott and I really look forward to skiing a few
times this winter as well! We are
learning to sit back and enjoy the crazy.
We hope our note finds you happy and well. Have a very Merry Christmas!
