I'm going to have to add pictures later but for now I'm going to recap our last three weeks of summer fun. This is mostly for my record, so it probably won't be too exciting to read. :)
On June 16th, we drove down to Utah. The kids did amazing in the car and the trip only took 10 hours.
The next day was Fathers' Day and we all got together at my parent's house for dinner. That week the girls had swimming lessons M-Th, with Lisa's kids. It was fun to go and visit with Lisa every morning.
After lessons on Monday we went to 7 Peaks with my mom, Travis and Jessica, Cody and Kristin. We had a lot of fun. We stayed from about noon until closing at 8pm.
Tuesday morning I took Scott to the airport to fly back to Billings so he could get back to work. I met up with Lisa and Julie and all of our kids later that day, at Heritage Park by Lisa's house. It has a fun little stream running through it that the kids can play in. They had fun together. That night my mom and I went to lunch with Kama and her mom, Muriel. They are hilarious and it was so fun to see them.
Wednesday we went to Lisa's house along with Nicole and her kids to hang out and chat. I was so happy Lisa made herself so available during the week I was visiting! I miss living near her for sure. I also got to go running and to aerobics with her a few times while visiting.
Thursday the plans I had fell through so we stayed around my parents house and did laundry. That night I got to go to bookclub at Kim's house! It was so great! I miss the bookclub girls sooo much!
Friday we took the girls to the splash pad in Highland. We didn't stay very long and I think it was that afternoon that we went and saw the movie Brave.
Saturday I loaded up the van and drove to Driggs, Idaho to meet Scott and his side of the family at the Bates' Lodge. We stayed at the lodge until Wednesday. While we were there we played horseshoes, watched outdoor movies at night, hiked a strenuous 9 mile hike to Table Rock Mountain, waded in an ice cold mountain stream, played softball, and enjoyed everyone's company. The kids got very dirty and played very well together and played many games of Charlie, Charlie Butcher Boy.
Wednesday, June 27th, I drove the kids and I back to Utah. We went to our old neighbor's house(Sarah Johnstone) to visit and let the kids play. When we got back to my parents' house Lucy started throwing up, and throwing up. It was terrible. Finally after I had her and the mess all cleaned up and was ready to go to bed, Kate threw up all over where she was sleeping. Friday we were supposed to go swimming with Lisa but with sick kids we just stayed home and did some more laundry. That night my mom and I were able to sneak out for a little while to do some shopping.
Saturday the kids were feeling better so my mom and I took them to the pool in Lindon. It is a great pool! I was happy we still go to go swimming. Before we went swimming I got to go to Jen's baby shower! It was at our old ward's church building and most of the people there were book club girls, so it was fun to visit with them again.
Sunday we went to my mom's ward for church and that evening we had a barbecue and celebrated Addi's birthday.
Monday we packed up again and headed back to Billings. Greg and Jill let me follow them for the drive which was so nice. Jill rode with us for the first few hours, then they took Sari and Kate for a long stretch so Leah and Lucy could nap. It worked out so great. I'm not sure how they felt about it, because Kate can be pretty loud while in the car. When I got her back in my car for the last two hours she just slept. She must have spent a lot of energy while in their car. It was so nice of them to travel with us.
Tuesday we had dinner together with all of Scott's siblings and their families. Ryan and Kris, and Lana were both here visiting for the week too. We were going to go rapelling but the place on the rims where we wanted to do it was closed because they didn't want anyone doing fireworks there.
Wednesday, July 4th, we did the Chief Joseph 4 mile run. I ran it in 40:03 which is better than I expected because I had been feeling so sluggish the entire week before. After the run we went to the ward breakfast. When we got back home we went hiking in the rims for an hour. I had to carry Leah in a backpack for a good part of the way so I was really tired. We ate lunch and then got to go swimming at the Wings pool. That night we had a barbecue at Dan and Julane's. It was an exhausting, fun day.
Thursday morning we went to the temple and out to lunch. We had dinner at Scott's moms and then went and played a family game of softball. It started POURING during the game and we were all soaked. Scott and his mom weren't feeling well that afternoon so Scott didn't get to come play. We started passing a stomach bug around this day. Amy also got sick this night.
Luckily, Scott was feeling better Friday morning because we went boating to Yellowtail. It takes about two hours to get to. It was beautiful and very fun. Sari and Kate loved the tub rides and we had the nice little swimming area pretty much to ourselves. On the drive home several more of the kids got sick. It was a quick illness though. Most people only seemed sick for 8-12 hours.
Saturday we slept in and then Scott and I went running. In the evening we went to a barbecue at Kirk and Marlayne's and played horseshoe's. When it got dark we played a game of Ultimate Frisbee. Kirk had a light-up frisbee and we wore glow sticks to show what team we were on. It was really cool.
Sunday(today) we went to church and then to dinner at Julane's. We just visited at her house afterwards.
It has been three weeks of non-stop action. I am looking forward to the next week and a half or so, where I have nothing planned. We head back to Utah on the 20th, so we'll have 12 days or so of a break!
