Hike to the Wind Cave

On Monday, we decided to go on a hike to the wind cave.  It was about 6 miles round trip so I was a little nervous taking Sari and Kate, but they both did really well.  Kate had a little harder time on the way up when it was a little steep, but she was a trooper and just kept going.  When we were driving to the trail head Scott read a sign he saw that said something about being bear aware.  We didn't know that Kate had been listening intently and when we stopped at the trail head and looked at Kate she had been crying for a little while.  I asked her what was wrong.  She said, "I don't want to go hiking anymore.  You didn't tell me there was going to be bears!!"  She was scared the poor girl.  I never like to think about the threat of bears either.  We reassured her and off we went.

We took a wrong turn at the end of the hike and came up this REALLY steep trail.  The picture doesn't do it justice.  It was a trick getting everyone back down too.  We ended up going through the trees and going from tree to tree.
