Sari's birthday this year was on a Tuesday (September 24th). I was a little worried about that because Tuesday is by far our busiest day. I was also helping at Leah's preschool that day. Sari set her alarm early so she'd have time to open some presents before school. I think her favorite present we gave her was a flutterby fairy. It actually flies and you can control it's height with your hand. It is such a fun toy. I made white chocolate covered popcorn with sprinkles for Sari to take in for her birthday treat for her class. Scott went and ate lunch with Sari at the school. Sari was sure to tell me that he brought her sprite in addition to her food. After school we went to dance, then I came home to finish making cupcakes and feed the kids dinner while Scott took Kate to soccer. Then we had all the family come over to celebrate Sari, Carson, Dallin, and Colby's birthdays.
The day after Sari's birthday we went to Chuck-E-Cheese's. I wasn't planning on having a party for her, and I thought this wasn't going to be a party, but it really was. She invited two friends and her three cousins. So with them and her sisters(we left Lucy with grandma) it ended up being 8 kids with 150 tokens at Chuck-E-Cheese's for nearly 2 hours. I wasn't planning on it running into dinner time, but it did so instead of buying ice cream cones for everyone I ended up buying them all dinner at Wendy's. I'm not an extravagant party thrower and I was trying to get out of a party, but that plan didn't work out too well. :) Sari had a lot of fun and got a couple of great gifts too, so I guess it was worth it.
