Kate has been asking for a pet forever! After we did the women's run, I took her, a friend (Sharon Combs), and Sari out to lunch at McDonald's and then to Petsmart to buy a hamster. She chose a dark grey/almost black Syrian hamster and named him Cookie. It has taken 2-3 weeks, but he is now a friendly little thing that likes to be held.
Kate didn't seem to mind sharing her birthday with Mothers' Day this year. We had dessert at Julane's house that evening and threw in Kate's family party at the same time. We celebrated pretty well the day before too, so I think it all turned out just great.
The day after Kate's birthday, she showed me that one of her top teeth had
finally broke through her gums. She has been missing her two font top teeth nearly a year! She was super excited because she said that the wish she made when she blew out her candles the day before was that her teeth would grow back in! The next morning her wish had already begun to come true.
