Oh the pain!

We went to Utah at the beginning of April for Easter break.  It was great fun to be there for Easter, but a day before we were supposed to leave my eye started to swell.  By that night, it was really painful and had doubled in size during the day.  I called an ophthalmologist in my ward and sent him a lovely picture of my eye to ask him about it.  He told me it looked like cellulitis and gave me a prescription of antibiotics to take.  He also said if it wasn't getting better I may have to get it lanced and drained.  I was just really hoping the antibiotics would do the trick!

We got to Utah on Wednesday.  Thursday night I got to go to book club at Lisa's house!  The only problem was my eye was KILLING me.  Aside from just aching and burning, it felt like I couldn't get any tears on my eye to wet it.  Even when I closed my eye and pushed my eyelid down, it still felt sooo dry and hurt.  My eyes are watering now just writing about it.  The next morning I pulled my eyelid out and asked Scott if he could see anything.  He said he could tell it was forming some sort of abscess.  My miserable night at book club and the sight of something coming to a head under my eyelid pushed me to go to the eye doctor in American Fork.  He was able to flip my eyelid inside out and drain the thing with a needle.  He also gave me antibiotic eye drops.  It started to really heal after that.  Thank goodness!
