Originally we weren't going to go to Utah over the Christmas break, but I ended up needing another root canal and crown, so I had to make the appointment to get the permanent crown placed sometime, so why not during the kids break? We went to Utah county's New Years' Eve celebration at the Provo Rec Center. It was a lot of fun. They had face painting, several different shows, including a magician, bounce houses and rock walls, dancing, etc. It was pretty fun. The kids had a blast. We stayed till 11:30 then went back to my parent's house and watched Travis set off fireworks. There were lots of fireworks going off all around the valley.
We went ice skating while we were there too. Leah LOVED it. Sari and Kate wore the wrong socks and were getting their skin rubbed raw, so they were complaining a bit. Kate wasn't feeling very well either so that probably was her problem. When we got home she went downstairs and took a long nap. Leah did great holding someone's hand while skating. The only trouble was how many people there were. At one point Scott and Travis were holding Leah's hands and they were going to run into someone so Scott tried to let go of Leah's hand. She wouldn't let go and Scott ended up falling hard. He had the biggest, blackest bruise to show for it. His entire leg from hip to knee was also bruised. Aside from some soreness it seemed fine after it happened. About two weeks later though, something went wacky and he could barely walk on it for 3 days. It was a little worrisome, but it seems fine now thankfully.
We always have so much fun visiting our family in Utah! We visited every month there for a while. We are all going to have withdrawals!
