We decided instead of going for Christmas to Utah this year, we'd just go after. The storms, came after. The roads were intermittently icy and there was a lot of blowing snow on the way there. On the way home we were going through another storm, so both ways we had to go a lot slower and it took much more concentration on Scott's part to drive. His back and hip hurt afterward since he couldn't ever use cruise control.
Right after we arrived, it became apparent that there were a couple sick people and a couple getting sick. Kristin and her kids had influenza, my parents had colds, and Jessica and her kids had colds and one of them had Strep throat. It was such a bummer that everyone ended up being sick. The first couple days I was able to visit Lisa, run outside!(great since I don't know when I'll be able to do that again here), Scott and I went to dinner with Lisa and Alan, we took the kids to a movie, Scott took them swimming, and Scott and I got a little shopping done. On New Years Eve the sickies decided to venture out to The Children's Museum with us. My mom, Travis, and Addie seemed to be feeling better but got sicker after this unfortunately. Kristin stayed home. The kids did have a blast though and that night we headed to Illuminaria at Thanksgiving Point. It was really neat. I'd like to do it again, but leave my kids home next time to more fully enjoy it. The kids got soaking wet in the water area. Oh we also went to the dinosaur museum after this and cruised through it pretty quick. My mom bought the explorer pass for everyone, which covered all of Thanksgiving Point for the day.
