Winter Has Arrived!!

We had several days of heavy snow in the middle of December.  The kids got a snow day!  A little over a week before Christmas Leah said something about there being snow on Christmas and I looked around at the dry ground and told her we might not have any.  I was really wrong about that one!  We haven't seen the ground since and it's been over a month.  We are just starting to see the roads again.  That's right, Billings doesn't believe in plowing roads.  It really complicated travel.  One day Leah's bus got stuck in the middle of the road in our subdivision!
Grandma saw Ian in his pink boots and gloves, and promptly sent him his own boy pair of both!  He didn't know the difference, he just loves being outside playing in the snow!  He didn't get out too much for three weeks though because the temperatures stayed in the negatives forever.  This week it has actually been in the mid 30's and it has been WONDERFUL!  Kate keeps refusing to wear a coat to school because she says it is warm.

 Notice the snow-packed road.
The kids really needed to suit up to stay warm waiting for the bus!

Scott took this picture last night.  As you can see, we still have tons of snow piled up despite the thawing temperatures the last couple days.  At least the driveway is finally clear!  All of our sidewalk, except a small section Scott cleared a couple days ago, is still buried under a deep layer of snow.  After so many storms and such blowing, drifting snow, it was a losing battle to try to keep the sidewalk clear.
