Floating the River!

On Friday, August 17th, we floated the river with Melissa and Dan Combs Family and Lacey Anderson and her kids and mom.  We parked at Itch-Kep-Pe Park in Columbus and then drove up to fisherman's access to put our tubes in.  We got in the Stillwater River and it turned into the Yellowstone River a little way down.  Lucy and Leah were on slightly smaller tubes and at one point we were headed into the bank into a lot of branches.  Lucy's tube started to flip so Scott had to grab her.  She was not happy about that.  It scared her.  Next year when we do it, we'll make sure we all have river tubes. We floated it once and then decided to do it again.  The second time down, a black bear splashed into the river in front of us!  I was a little worried because the bear looked pretty small and I was worried about where mama bear was.  The teenage/preteen girls were a ways behind us floating together in their tubes so I wanted to make sure everyone was safe!  I worried for nothing, the bear crossed the river to the other side and got out before we reached it and there was no sign of any other bears.
