Sari is five now. Crazy. I'm glad she isn't in kindergarten yet. I like having her at home with me most of the time. She is pretty helpful with her sisters and I've been enjoying giving her reading lessons every day.

She was very spoiled for her birthday this year. Her birthday was Friday and she got to take donuts to preschool. That afternoon we took the kids to Chuck E Cheese. We were able to win enough tickets to get a gumball machine. After that we went to hang out with Scott's brothers and family so she got to play with cousins too.
Saturday Scott and I went to the BYU game so my parents watched the kids. They took them to Monkey Island - a big blow up playland extravaganza. Sari and Kate ran around there in pure enjoyment for a couple hours straight.
Sunday was the primary program and Sari did a great job saying her part. Last year she wouldn't even stand up with her class when it was time, so this was a vast improvement. We had a family party for her that evening. Sari got to enjoy three days of celebration for her birthday this year, lucky girl!
At 5 Years Old:
-Sari has been taking gymnastics for the last couple months and really loves it. She is getting very strong and has a little 6 pack. Her favorite things learned are how to do cartwheels and backward rolls.
-Sari has made a couple of new friends in the neighborhood and wants to play with them EVERY minute that she can.
-Sari is doing well at her reading lessons. There are 100 lessons and we are on number 39. She also likes going to preschool.
-Sari learned how to tie her own shoes about 6 months ago, and she'll tie Kate's or Leah's for me too. So nice!
-Sari likes most foods but a little while ago I discovered she really doesn't like medium cheddar cheese. I made her a taco and she kept crying telling me something tasted gross to her. I didn't think it would be the cheese so after taking off all the other toppings one by one I finally figured out it she didn't like it because it was medium instead of mild cheddar.
-Her favorite shows are Arthur and The Cat in the Hat Know a Lot About That
-Sari decided she wanted to grow her bangs out a couple of months ago. It sure is a LONG process. I feel like I'm re-pinning them back a million times a day.

I so want that cake, and it's not just because I'm diabetic right now. After I deliver, I'm making a huge cake like that and eating it . . . just because I can. Happy Birthday to Sari--I can't believe she's that old.
