30

(We didn't have time to make a cake this year but Scott said I needed to blow candles out so he put them in a stack of pumpkin pancakes.)

I've officially left my 20's, never to return again. How strange is that? I am always sad to leave behind each phase of life. I'm also happy to move ahead to something new, but there's always something to miss about the previous phase (except the early teen Jr. high years maybe). I think it would be nice to be able to jump back in time for a day or so every now and then.

I had a very good birthday thanks to a great husband, family, and friends. I got lots of birthday wishes in person as well as by telephone, text, and facebook - gotta love technology. I don't think I've ever had as many people wish me a happy birthday. I had two GREAT friends willing watch my kids today so Scott and I got to go out to lunch and then to a movie in the evening. It was so much fun. The past several years I haven't done much on my actual birthday but celebrated the weekend before or after. There is just something about celebrating on the actual day.

Preliminary birthday celebrations included dinner and a play (The Scarlet Pimpernell) on Friday night while Grandma watched the kids. That was really fun too. Though the play at the Orem Hale Center Theater was not nearly as good as the one in Salt Lake. Saturday we had yet another friend watch the kids while Scott and I dressed up and ran in the American Fork Halloween 5k. We ran it together in 31 minutes. I wanted to take it easy since my stomach had been hurting most of the day. It was really fun though and really well organized. It is a race I'd like to do every year.

I'm feeling very indebted to all you willing child watchers so be sure and let me return the favor!
