This little cartoon was included in a BabyCenter e-mail I got last week. It must really be 'game over' for Scott and I since our kids outnumber us by double! It does feel that way sometimes. Lucy and I have been dealing with Thrush for over 4 weeks now. It is horrible. We've been through several prescriptions that didn't work and now I'm on to trying grapefruit seed extract and expensive probiotics. Remind me next time I have a baby and have to have antibiotics to do everything in my power to prevent this horrible situation. I'm also eating a yeast free diet, meaning obviously no yeast, no sugar, no refined flour, white rice, pasta, etc., I'm even supposed to limit natural sugars like fruit and milk products. Really, I'm getting sick of this. Dare I say it - but I think in the last couple of days Lucy's thrush seems to be slowly, SLOWLY, improving. I hope that in a month or so this will all be a distant memory. Oh, I really hope! If anyone is ever dealing with Thrush or any kind of yeast overgrowth problem, I've got a lot of info on the subject. You should definitely talk to me before you go to the doctor. I think the prescriptions we tried before I started doing this other stuff actually made the yeast a lot harder to get rid of.
