The Christmas season may have been a bit shorter this year because of a late Thanksgiving, but we still managed to pack a LOT of things in. Sari and Kate helped me make reindeer candy bars for their bus drivers and some neighbors. We also made cinnamon candied almonds this year for neighbors. The reindeer took a lot longer than I thought they would. I'm really glad they were excited to help.
Sari and Kate had a couple of Dannsairean Irish Dance performances at nursing homes. I was surprised how many dances Sari was in and how well she did. I've only been going to the last 10 minutes of their class lately, because it's too hard to keep Leah and Lucy settled for the entire class.
Here is another example of a note that was written to Santa this month - this one was from Kate:
We spend ALL month fighting pink eye. On our drive home from Utah after Thanksgiving, Leah's eye looked a little questionable. The question was answered the next morning when her eye was glued shut. I called the doctor and got some tobramycin drops for her to use, but then each day a new kid came down with it and so did I. We all used the drops for the prescribed time, and then three days after the pink eye came back!!! So I did the drops for EVERYONE again at the same time for double the prescribed time. Again, the pink eye came back three days later. The HORROR! Such a pain putting eye drops in 5 pairs of eyes 4 times a day! I took Lucy to the doctor to have him prescribe us something different. He proscribed Vigamox, which is $100 a bottle- a tiny 3ml bottle. Our insurance covered half the cost but we needed two bottles of it and probably could have used three, but another $50? We made do. We got nearly 6 days out of both bottles for all of us. We were supposed to do 7. The last day of drops was Christmas day and so far so good! It makes me nervous to type that though.
Ryan and Kris came to visit for Christmas and a couple days before Christmas we went sledding above the temple. I was surprised how well Leah and Lucy could walk up the hill themselves. It was 20 degrees too, so no one got cold. Unfortunately, we are extremely acclimated to super cold temperatures.
