January was getting long, so.....

We were productive the first part of January and got a few projects done.  One was building shelves in the storage room.  It is sooo, nice to finally have everything organized in there.  I'm not filled with dread anytime I need to get something from there now.
Scott enjoyed ordering me around while building the shelves.  :)

We had a couple turns babysitting for our Friday night coop.  We don't have to babysit again until February 28th, which is great, but I'm not sure doing it closer together a couple times is worth it.  It is good to have a turn every 4th weekend.  There are 12 kids in the group and we babysit from 5 or 5:30 to 9 or 9:30 Friday night and feed all the kids dinner.  There are 3 other families in the group.  It is nice to be able to count on a babysitter every Friday night.

I started to feel like we never get to go do anything fun, so after a GREAT snowstorm inspired me, I arranged for Scott and I to go skiing on a Thursday.  We had SO much fun.  I think skiing is my favorite thing EVER.  I love it so much.  I realized this last time skiing that my skills are pretty good now too.  I finally feel really comfortable going down a black diamond and I always feel really in control.  I'm in better shape this year than sometimes when I've gone skiing.  That really helps.  It makes it so fun when your legs don't get tired and you can just fly down the hill, you feel so free and it's so pretty and great to be outside.  Red Lodge was pretty empty so it was a lot of fun to have the whole mountain mostly to ourselves.

The Saturday after that (18th), we took Sari skiing for her first time!  We went with Greg and Jill and their girls.  It was so much fun teaching Sari to ski.  She loved it.  I got a little nervous at first because she wasn't getting how to snowplow.  But after I told her to push her heels out, instead of pointing her toes in, it clicked for her.  She keeps asking when we can go again.  Too bad it's so expensive!  I think we are going to take Kate in February and teach her.  Maybe we'll buy them a couple lessons for Christmas next year.  Skiing is something I love so much and I'd love to do it as a family.  Skiing is right up there with Disneyland for me.  :)
