Snow, COLD, Wind, Repeat

This winter has been by FAR the snowiest, coldest, most windy weather crazy winter ever!  I took a screen shot of my phone one day when I had to go out and get the CD player in the van replaced.  Here it is:
Doesn't a temperature with a wind chill of -44 degrees sound nice to go run errands in?

One Sunday we made snow ice cream after church.  I mixed sweetened condensed milk and vanilla into the snow and it was a great texture and so good!
The weather cycle since the beginning of December has been a period of snow, then several days of sub zero temperatures, followed by a couple of above freezing WINDY days.  It seriously has repeated this over and over.  The problem is there are only a few days in there where the kids can go outside to play.  Right after it snows, but before it gets too cold to be outside.  It is also too crazy to be outside on the windy days because it is REALLY windy.  Here is one of the days they were able to play outside!

Leah and Lucy have spent a lot of time coloring and playing inside.  I sat down and taught Leah how to write her name one day.  She writes it so well, I probably should have already taught her this.  She has been practicing writing random letters for a while now.

We are currently in the snow period.  It snowed a couple days ago about 8-10 inches and we are supposed to get another 8 inches or so in the next couple days.  The high temperature for Saturday-Monday is going to be 0 or colder.  I'm sure the wind will follow after that.  I can't believe this has been going on since the beginning of December - three months straight!  We will REALLY appreciate spring if it ever comes.
