Lucy loves to hold cookie - she's just not very concerned about putting him back in his cage when she's done. She let him loose twice and has almost let him go on several more occasions. Now when I hear her ask a friend if they want to see Cookie, I run downstairs to supervise so I don't have to stay up late to catch the little hamster. The first time he got away we didn't find him for two days. On the second night I decided to put his cage on the floor with a trail of sunflower seeds leading him back in. I put tinfoil on the ground so I'd hear him when he got close. I was still awake when he came running into the room. He saw his reflection in the tin foil and was so startled he nearly did a back flip. It was pretty funny. He ended up running under Kate's bookcase where I scared him out and then he ran and trapped himself between the wall and his cage.
The second time he got loose Kate and her friend found him in our toy closet. I was able to catch him in there.
Last Sunday, Scott thought it would be a good idea to take Cookie to his mom's house in his ball. He had Kate set Cookie in the ball down in the laundry room. About 10 minutes later Kate came to us in a panic saying the lid had come off of the ball. Luckily Cookie hadn't gotten very far and we were able to catch him quick and take him back home!
