September 2, 2015

I wanted to write a post about the very day I'm writing instead of going back a month or more.  The kids have been in school a week now.  Leah is loving pretty much every minute.  She comes home every day so happy and full of stories.  She loves to jump rope now and it seems like she does it every recess.  She talks about finding Charli Zitto and Angelica Olsen to play with at recess too.  She pulled out our old jump ropes here and she goes around and around our house on the big circle our sidewalk and walking path make jumping.

Kate seems to be doing well in school too.  I was a little worried because she got the teacher that kids were telling her was "mean."  Kate has liked her so far and she seems a lot less stressed out than last year.  She brought home math homework and she cruised through it and she has always done great at spelling and still is.  Abigail isn't in her class this year, but she seems ok with that too.  She does find her at lunch and recess to play with.

If anything, Sari has seemed the most emotional at the start of this school year.  She is involved in a lot of activities so maybe we need to look at that.  She does a fitness club called PEAK, MWF after school for an hour, soccer on Monday, Friday, and Saturday, Dance on Monday, Piano on Wednesday, on Tuesday she does a running club before school and a logic game thing after school.  She is insisting on doing it all so we'll see how long she wants to keep it up!  Sometimes at home she is just a little dramatic and cries over silly things.  She is still very conscientious and hard working and she is a little solid muscle.

Lucy is not enjoying everyone leaving her to go to school every day.  Her preschool doesn't start for another week.  I've been doing little preschool workbooks with her and I took her on my jog with me the other day.  She's had a few play dates too, but she still seems a little out of sorts without her sisters around as much.

Ian has been so sick since Sunday.  We went to South Dakota this past weekend and on Sunday morning he woke up with a high fever and threw up.  He was sick like that Monday, Tuesday, and today, so this morning I took him to the doctor.  He has a double ear infection.  The doctor said the ear infection can make babies throw up.  He also is teething and has diarrhea.  He has been so fussy and clingy.  He would get sooo mad when I'd try to only nurse him for a couple minutes so he wouldn't puke again.  At the doctor this morning he got a shot of Zofran and he hasn't thrown up since then.  That's been a relief, but he has been sooo fussy all day still.  He's down for the night now, so I hope he feels better in the morning.
