Day 2 we explored the western side of Yellowstone. We started out at the paint pots. Ian was surprisingly well behaved for being on such a crazy schedule. Look at those two men with all those kids!
I love watching mud boil. It is one of my favorite things. I think it is calming and hypnotic. The kids did not enjoy the smell.
We ended our day at Old Faithful. Talk about crowded! All of Yellowstone was pretty busy, but Old Faithful was by far the craziest! Lisa and I took a selfie to send to our awesome book club gals.
On our way back to our vacation home we stopped at The Grand Prismatic Spring. Only Leah, Sari, and I made the little hike up to see it. Ian was asleep in the car and Kate didn't want to get out of the car. It was beautiful, but a little cold so it was hard to see because of all the steam rising off the water.
Our view for A LOT of the vacation. Lisa and Alan's van is in front of us at this point. We took turns leading, but Yellowstone involves a lot of driving. We stayed near Pray, MT which is a ways outside of Yellowstone so it took some time just to get to and from the entrance each day. The house was spacious and had a hot tub and space for the kids so that was nice, but I think I'd like to stay closer to the park next time. One evening, Scott and I found that we had a flat tire on the van. Alan and Scott went the next morning to Livingston early to get it fixed. It didn't cost us too much time.
