My side of the family had a trip to Bear Lake planned for the beginning of August. We were always planning on going to that, but then we found out Addie's baptism was the weekend before that so we headed down early so we could go! My mom and I took the kids on a walk on the Cedar City trail Saturday evening. We found a black-headed snake and as far as I could ascertain on google it wasn't poisonous. I caught it for Leah and let her hold it. She has been dying to hold a snake. She watches all kids of YouTube videos about snakes and kids with pet snakes, etc. She was thrilled. The Olympics were going on during this trip, so we usually caught some of that each night. I really like watching the Olympics. Sunday we went and hiked to Stewart Falls. Once again, we had to coerce Leah to keep hiking, just keep hiking. But she made it! Winter should give her a good break from hiking and she'll be ready to go again in the spring! (Hopefully.) My parents have been hiking like crazy so it was fun to go on a hike with them.
We went to the splash pad with Kristin and her kids one morning. I also was able to get together with my book club friends while we were there! It is always good to catch up with them. I always try to go running with Lisa at least a couple times every time I'm in Utah too. It's good for the soul.
