On Saturday, we got up and went to the Farmer's Market. It was a fun atmosphere and we bought some pastries and fruit for breakfast and bought some food for Sunday dinner. We bought heirloom tomatoes, a yummy kind of soft cheese, rainbow baby potatoes, mushrooms, fresh pasta, and sour dough bread. We went to Trader Joe's after to buy some steak, salmon, salad, and pasta sauce. Yes, we had a feast the next day. It made me so sad to not be able to eat all the leftovers. Me and leftovers are best friends and that food was so good. After that, we went back to our rental for a siesta since Scott and I were still wiped out from getting up at 3am the morning before to catch our flight and the traffic was horrendous because there was a Giants game starting soon. After that nice refreshing hour, we went back downtown to hit some highlights like Chinatown, Ghirardelli square, Union square, and Fishermans Wharf. We walked quite a bit on this outing and there were many seemingly mentally unstable homeless people walking about. When it was about time to start walking back it was twilight and Alan smartly convinced us to take Uber back to our car. The picture of us discussing our first ride is below. Our driver was an Indian student with less than pleasant breath. After a while Alan got quiet and then Lisa started conversing with him. Later we found out Alan wanted the guy to stop talking because it wasn't pleasant smelling. Haha, in the backseat, we were unaware. Everywhere we went the parking was expensive. Originally we were going to take public transit the whole time except the first day, but the BART shut down over the weekend for maintenance so that foiled that plan.
