The other kids got to have ski lessons this winter. Lucy was too young through the home-school group we did. She didn't seem to mind missing the skiing, but she didn't think it was fair the other kids got to miss school to do it. I let her stay home during the day when Scott stayed home and I was at the lesson. Scott took this picture of her before dance to show off his skills in making a pony tail and having her ready to go on time!
Kindergarten is going great for Lucy. She had a rough start being at school all day every day and riding the bus, but she seems to be more used to it now. She is reading really great, and says she likes school more than she says she doesn't now. Today she called from school to tell me she clipped off the chart. Each day they start in the middle of a color chart and they can clip down or up. If they clip up 4 times in one day they get off the chart and get a lot of praise and a toy. She has been trying to clip off the chart really hard, so I'm happy she did it today! At the beginning of the school year she had a few issues with another girl on the school bus and the bus driver had Lucy come get me two days in a row to talk to him about it. She also had a hard time at school for a while when her regular teacher (Mrs. Payton) was out for 10 weeks after she adopted a baby. Lucy got into a power struggle one day with the substitute and clipped to red. When she clipped to red I also got a phone call. Today's phone call was great especially compared to those red calls. (She randomly hit a kid in the face one day and clipped to red then too.) Anyhow, she's been clipping up consistently since her regular teacher came back so that's great! We took the kids on individual dates in February. This picture is from when I took Lucy out.
