2017 North America Total Solar Eclipse

The eclipse was really cool.  I wish that we would have been able to travel the 4 hours to experience it in totality.  In Billings I think it was between 96% and 98% complete.  We did consider it seriously, but in the end Scott ended up needing to stay closer to home to work.  Scott made us a pinhole eclipse viewing box.  You can see the shape of the sun in that in one of the pictures.  The other picture I took with my phone through some eclipse viewing glasses.  Marlayne invited everyone over to her house for a little viewing party.  It was during the hours around lunchtime so we had a little potluck lunch.  It was a really good time and a nice gathering at the end of summer.  The next opportunity to see a total eclipse I'm going to make more of an effort to get to a place that will be 100%.  It really was so amazing!
Kate, Sharon, Sari and Lucy viewing the eclipse!
