Red Lodge Hike

We gathered some of our friends from our ward to go on a hike in Red Lodge.  Well it was past Red Lodge and I'm not sure which hike it was.  We all just followed Melissa up the mountain on the lovely dirt washboard road!  This kids did great on the hike and at the end we were by a slow part of the river and we stopped to eat lunch.  Leah and Traegan Murdoch caught a snake and all the kids wanted a turn to hold it.  I was afraid they were going to squish the poor thing fighting over whose turn it was.  Ian and Averett hiked the whole way and were real troopers.  They were good motivation for each other.  The wild raspberries along the side of the trail helped too.  The kids liked eating those.  On our way home we stopped for ice cream, which I never enjoy because Ian usually can't have any of it and he has started to freak out about it.  There is too much of a risk of contamination between the kinds of ice cream with nuts and peanut butter.  I did stop at the gas station to get him an ice cream sandwich but the whole time we were getting the other kids ice cream he was freaking out.  I'm going to have to avoid going to hard ice cream places.
