The kids checking out their gifts. They all got something filling the want, wear, need, read categories. Lucy got a new kindle since Ian shattered her old one a couple years ago and she's been using it that was ever since. Sari got a new ski helmet and ski pants, they all got a new sled to share, Kate got a new backpack and a virtual reality thing that works with a smart phone, and Leah and Lucy both got Hatchimals. Some of Ian's prized presents were a spider man blanket and a noisy police car! Oh yes, lets not forget the hover board Sari and Kate were surprised with! Santa must not have known they would have to wait until nearly May to try it out outside! We have taken it to the church a few times to ride in the meantime. After we opened presents we ate our traditional butterscotch bubble bread and a egg/hashbrown/sausage casserole for breakfast. I can't resist those butterscotch rolls and gain a couple pounds every Christmas morning as a result. That would be why they only make an appearance once a year!
