January 28th, Sunday - (written between flights that day) - We are midway through our journey home now. We didn't get to sit together on the flight from HNL to LAX. A five hour flight in the center seat for me between two HUGE broad shouldered, big legged men. It got so hot and claustrophobic. I hated it. We are about to board our flight to SLC and we don't have seats by each other again. I talked to my mom and she says Ian has really gotten sick today. Hopefully it isn't the flu. Back to reality!

Oahu - Day 8 & 9
January 27th, Saturday - This morning we got up and went to Turtle beach to see if we could see any turtles but no such luck. We went on a hike by sunset elementary up to a couple old WWII bunkers. The view at the top was great and you could see the bonzai pipeline beach and sunset beach and the roof of the wale house. There was a little farmers market by the trail head we looked around at for a minute. We went back to the whale house and ate breakfast and called the owner, Greg, to let him know we were going to enjoy the spa. He wanted a picture of people in it for instagram. Then we headed out to look at Laie Point and find a beach to boogie board at. We looked at Hukilau beach but ended up back at Malekahana. It was super crowded since it was Saturday and it was cloudy so didn't feel as warm. I ended up just swimming a bit but Scott boogie boarded with all the surfers and people boogie boarding in a crowd. We went and showered after that and then walked down to sunset beach with Greg at sunset and he took a bunch of pictures of us. I was happy he offered to take those pictures since I thought I had lost all of my pictures from the trip. We went to Haleiwa Joe's for dinner. We both got a catch of the day dish that was very good. After that all our fun was over - just packing and getting to bed.
