Trip to Utah - Part 1

On Saturday the 15th, after we got home from the Big Horn Run, we found out Grandpa Perkins was really not doing well.  We decided to do a quick packing job and head to Utah the next morning.  It actually went really smooth packing that fast which was really nice.  My mom had done some laundry while we were gone on our run so that helped and I just made a list of things for Scott to pack to bring to the lodge so I didn't have to worry about packing for that part of our trip too.  We got to American Fork in the evening and we went and visited Grandpa.  I was glad I got to see him several times that week before he passed away.

On Monday we went on a little hike with Travis and Porter.  It was to a waterfall and it was a nice short hike which was good since it was over 90 degrees when we did it.  On the hike we saw lots of butterflies.  Kate was dying to catch one.  She had just barely told me yet again how much she wanted to catch a butterfly when one landed right on her shirt.  Her shirt had a big flower on it with the center part of it actually standing out and it landed right on it.  We carried it in a plastic bag for a while then we convinced Kate to let it go after she got to hold it.  After we went and got fresh strawberry shakes from Taco Amigo.

On Tuesday, 18th, I convinced Lisa to go to 7 Peaks with me.  She wasn't too sure it sounded like much fun managing a bunch of little kids on our own, but it ended up good.  Sari, Kate, Alyssa, and Jeffrey were able to go down some water slides on their own, checking back often with us.  I thought that was so great.  It is nice having the kids get a little older.  Later that afternoon, we went to visit Grandpa again and then Travis and Jessica came to a concert in the park that was part of the PG Strawberry Days celebration.

Wednesday, Lisa invited all the book club girls and their kids over to her house for a massive get together.  There were many kids.  They all had a lot of fun and so did we.  It is really nice visiting with all of them.

Thursday I took the kids up to the Developmental Center to the Hill Celebration for fun and to be with Grandma.  They had all kinds of treats there- cotton candy, ice cream sandwiches, popcorn, snow cones; the kids were in heaven.  They also got their faces painted.  Later that day we went to the park with Kristin and her kids and then to the Strawberry Days Rodeo.

At the Rodeo!
